Gaia Reborn
Gaia Reborn, the hottest MMORPG of the last decade, has seen millions of players experience its unique world - a combination of fantasy and reality. When Gaia Reborn was a game, one goal was to make the game world a one-half scale model of the real world. This pursuit was known as the Half-Gaia Project, and it is one of the aspects which led to Gaia Reborn becoming such a popular virtual world. With regional servers having unique areas, quests, cities, and monsters, it wasn't uncommon for people to create alternate characters on other servers to experience what felt like an entirely new game.
Ten years after the game's launch, millions of players have joined and created countless characters across the many servers. Now, with the release of the latest expansion, Pioneers of Arcadia, many are getting ready to begin new adventures in the new Italian server, exploring the new region corresponding to Italy, known in Gaia as Italia. Characters would have to start from fresh in this new world, but Italy would finally get its own piece of this world.
Countless players created their characters, logged in with excitement fueling their hands as the cursor swept across the screen, and then... darkness... Everything was black, and as their eyes opened, the players found themselves in the streets of an unfamiliar city. Looking around to survey their surroundings, many players realized this city was not so new after all. While desolate and ruined, the architecture conquered by vines and greenery, this city was unmistakably Rome, but at the same time, it was not. Finding themselves in the bodies of their characters, trapped in the world of Gaia Reborn, players are left to adapt to their new reality in this fantasy world.

A woman with hair in the colour of elekturm walked out of the huge, imposing looking marble building that was also known as the library of Romalia. She was dressed in the cimple, cloth dress which was part of the equipment one could pick during character creation. But the thing which probably attracted the biggest amount of attention when she walked out onto the sunlinght was... The imposing, large, jet-black wings on her back which beautifully contrasted with her body and electrum hair, causing a small gust of wind to brush against the somewhat stronger breeze which frolicked through the streets of Romalia when they spread and stretched slightly.
While I am really glad that I can fold my wings close to my body and enter a building like this without a problem, they really do get sore when they are prevented from moving for so long. It's the same feeling as if you had to lie in a ditch for the entire day.
The girl thought while squinting up and at the sun above her, one of the two pristine hands rising up to her face to brush some of the electrum locks that were pushed into her face by the brisk breeze blowing through the city. Staying the night reading through books with only candlelight wasn't the best idea she had, but she needed all the information she could get. And that aside, the feeling of bright sun felt much better than yesterday after she first appeared. I will really have to get a circlet or a tiara to hold my hair out of my face... The character design I chose is really bothersome. I miss old, brown hair. That was easy to just tie down. The Enoch thought as she gazed up at the sky, watching the white clouds that looked like torn up cotton that someone tossed on a light blue blanket, something which would be so rare in real Rome which she knew few days ago. In the old Rome there was always several flocks of pigeons intent on devastating everything with their excrements. That was definitely one of the better changes.
Slowly Lufasu walked down the big stairs in front of the building, walking onto the rather busy street, her wings immideately folding back to her body to avoid interfering with the people walking through the city left and right. People of the Land, as busy as always, continued with their routines, going on with their business and trade, while many players finally got through the initial cultural shock of being torn out of their original world, finally comming to terms with their new life and world, while others just sat on the streets in a dejected, depressive way. Lufasu could understand their feelings, after all, they were torn away from their lives, famillies and friends and thrusted into middle of the world of Gaia, world, which was at the moment full of insecurities and unknowns. Even the library, which she hoped to provide some answers, contained barely anything that could answer the countless questions that flowed through the black winged woman's restless mind as she strolled through the cracked streets of Romalia, the breeze causing her electrum hair to slightly flutter around her while it played with the jet-black feathers of her wings.

It would have been pretty much impossible for anyone, Lufasu included, to miss Vincent. Down the stairs, in a small shop on the opposite side of the street, an Enoch was arguing with a lander and an adventurer because.. He had gotten stuck in the doorframe. While he was trying to pass through, someone accidentally pushed on the door, and now his wing was squeezed between door-and-frame while the other already stuck out past it. It took a good minute before the lander, the owner of the shop, managed to free Vincent's massive wings from the confines of the hinges. He had essentially been blocking the doorframe all the while.
"Ugh!" With a frustrated grunt, Vincent tugged both of his wings out of the establishment, spreading them wide on either side so that he could straighten out his feathers and then attempt to furl them up to his side again - a feat that took a while, as his wings more or less refused to obey. It was like watching someone trying to move their ears without budging the muscles in their cheek.
Eventually he more or less succeeded in that and knelt down to pick up the wicker basket near his feet, the contents of which he had purchased inside the shop he was trying to leave. Various pots of jam, loaves of bread, and a pungent cheese were covered by a thin cloth. It was a sight not unlike the basket that red riding hood would be carrying, instead projected on a two-meter-tall man that looked as if he had been plucked out of a renaissance mural depicting angels. It was a fantastic clash.
"Damn things, why did I make myself so tall? These wings are so wide. They should have depicted the issues of having wings on a humanoid more accurately in media." Vincent grumbled to himself as he continued down the street, too busy staring at the foodstuffs in his basket. It seemed almost unreal, to be eating actual medieval cuisine in a fantasy world.. So little sugar and snacks and convenience. And having to push himself through throngs of humanoids just for a simple shopping errand was a gigantic difference as well, as he had lived in a relatively thin town for most of his life. Romalia was still chock-full of people that either didn't want to leave or didn't know what to do, and as a result the streets were ridiculously clogged. Thus, here, no matter where he went, the streets were almost claustrophobically filled.

Immideately, Lufasu's thoughts drifted off into the aether, running wild after all that she had read in the library, filled with more questions than before. She would have to take a look through the city of Romalia, test the limits of the system they were stuck with for now, see everything with her own two eyes, live through it and make her own opinion.*sigh* She let out a soft sound while the soles of her boots clapped against the cracked street of Romalia... only to be interrupted by the sudden appearance of the tall, white-winged, white-haired Enoch that was struggling with... going through a door, trapped and strugling like a bird caught in a cage while the owner of the shop tried to help him.
I thought so, but it seems that handling of our wings isn't something we would have knowledge of automatically... Would it be the same as our skills? If I jumped off a building <Icarian Blessing> would probably activate, just as when I use a skill which has an animation.
She was completely lost in thoughts as she absent-mindedly watched the scene in front of her... unfold... Vincent spreading his wings, struggling even with that little thing. Lufasu felt incredibly lucky with the fact that she grasped the control over her own wings so rapidly, the day she spent figuring things out definitely helping her a big time. It brought her to ponder if all the adventurers which got blessed with... extra fluffy or feathery bits got the same kind of problem. Sculptors in the medieval ages definitely didn't think about the practical side of those things now that she thought about it, but who was she to blame them. And perhaps the people of the land who were bron with them had a bit better grasp over those things.
Slowly, Lufasu walked through the street, finally stopping right in front of vincent, kneeling down and bending over slightly to pick up one of the items which rolled off a bit further away from the suffering man, while her other hand stayed close to her face, holding the long locks of hair that kept falling into her face to the side. When she straightened up and extended the hand holding the crimson red apple to Vincent, she must have looked like a depiction of an angelic being from Michelangelo's masterpieces on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, her beauty contrasting with the cheap, beginer robe and the large, black wings on her back.
"I see that you are just like this one lady, struggling with the wings and form that you found yourself with." Lufasu began, cursing the haughty, arrogant tone of voice she was stuck with, tainting her otherwise melodic voice. "If you wouldn't mind accompanying this lady, I'd tell you a trick or two on how to keep your wings in check. After all, we should be helping one another in time of suffering, is it not?"
Lufasu gave him a slight, almost gentle looking smile, probably the best thing she was capable off after the sudden change which gave her this new form.

"Oh." Vincent looked up to see another Enoch kneeling down, busy grabbing a singular apple that had rolled further down the cobblestone road and gathered dust and dirt on the way. Luckily these things came with a natural protective coat. His eyes locked with hers for a brief while, after which he muttered a faint "Thanks." before she began her speech. Vincent himself was too far off in thought to really pick up much, pondering over the situation. Usually it was in slice of life or romantic series, both western and eastern, in which you'd find yourself in a situation like this, not real life.
Well, if this could even be considered real life. More like "actual experience in the flesh".
He, himself, was using a hand to hold aside his long locks of hair much like the other Enoch did, the colors of their plumage and hair a fitting contrast to one another. He gave that one awkward smile typically given by "white people" as a thanks for the help, quickly pocketing the fruit she retrieved back into the basket he carried.
"Ah, yeah. Sure." Still mostly at a loss of words, Vincent joined himself next to Lufasu. As she told him to "join her", he presumed that she would have somewhere to go, so he just sheepishly walked next ot her. Both of them walking side-by-side definitely looked like Michelangelo's sculptures come to life, but Vincent's wings were awkwardly hitting Lufasu's and brushing against one another. He tried to hold them against his back to not much effort, so he decided to instead walk with a meter and a half distance between them both so that his unruly appendages didn't bother hers. Even had Lufasu not been a Courtier, it would have been apparent that she was definitely the less reserved and more talkative person between the two, but the growing silent tension that Vincent could feel eventually overwhelmed him, to the point that he forced himself to start the conversation.
"So, my name is Vincent." Even though his name tag said "Cat". He preferred his real name over his nickname.. At least so far. "Thanks again, nice meeting you. You have much better control over your wings, I see. It's.. Difficult for me." He grimaced a bit, in the comical sense, followed by a deep sigh. "So.. Where are we going? There's no rush, my groceries won't be spoiling soon."

The Garnet coloured, crystal-like irises watched over the other Enoch as he looked at her, visibly caught off-guard by her sudden appearance and help, giving her an awkward smile before pocketing the crimson fruit she was giving him, putting it back into the woven basket he was carrying before his rather quick fall. She felt quite bad for catching him off-guard like this, but well, after the problems and trouble she went through with her own set of wings, she couldn't just ignore someone who struggled even worse than her. That aside... The world would have been a better place if people helped one another. And how could she claim to want such world if she didn't help someone who was suffering like this?
After his quick agreement her hands brushed over the novice robe she was wearing, brushing off particles of dust which stuck to the cloth, the slow clapping of her soles acompanying them as they walked. Indeed... Together they probably attracted even more attention, from both players and people of the land, looking like a painting from legends rather that something one would see in a daily life. Quite the contrast, two angel like figures, one with black and one with white wings. Noticing the trouble he had, Lufasu even folded her wings to allow him to walk a bit closer, even though the unique sight of the two walking like that must have been definitely something one wouldn't forget. At least the stares weren't focused just on her this time... this way it was a bit more bearable after all.
Slowly, Lufasu would lead the two towards one of the less populated, abandoned looking plazas of Romalia, the sight that offered itself to the two being a place that must have once been quite nice, row of trees which now grew out of control lining the plaza with a cracked fountain that succumbed to time in the middle. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Vincent. The name this one bears is Lufasu Amaryllis, but calling me just Lufasu will suffice." She said with the same, melodic sounding voice with a haughty undertone, her hands crossing on her chest as the two stopped, her form turning around so she could look at him clearly, faint, amused smile on her lips as she stole a quick glance at the name cat which said something different than what the person said... But with a name like that she could certainly understand.
"Mhm. I noticed. I thought that I could tell you how I got my control over them. And ah, actually, I were returning from the library, so I am not in a rush either, I just wanted to walk away from the crowds." She explained while her wings stretched slightly. "It seems to take time to figure it out, but when the skill <Icarian Blessing> kicks in during a jump or a fall, you can feel how the wings move and react. Repeating it for a moment gives you an idea how to move them. Its like rehabilitation after a week spent in hospital." She said with a smile while explaining how she managed to do so herself, hoping that it would be enough to give Vincent a way to improve his control over his wings.

"Thanks again, Lufasu." Vincent did his best attempt at putting on a non-stiff smile on his face, which wasn't exactly helped by the gloomy expression his character model had and his resting bitch face. "Another person using their nickname, huh. Don't they find it weird?" Vincent wasn't exactly unused to being called by his nickname while on voice chat during raids, but he had always been a strong insister on using each other's real names to further interpersonal bonds and a group atmosphere. But the thought that one could just so easily use their character's nickname as their own personal name.. It was bizarre.
With his mind gone, he could only half make out what else Lufasu had to say. He had idly placed himself on the edge of the cracked fountain, trying not to sit on a piece of stone that would crumble. With elbows planted on his thighs and his chin to his fists, he stared up at the fellow Enoch for a while with a perplexed look. "So.. You're saying I should toss myself off of a building? And that my wings will automatically do their thing? I don't have to, like, purposely try to fail my landing right? Will it work even if I jump so that I don't end up face-first in the stone?" He could already imagine how bad business would go in the real world if he casually tossed himself off of a two-story building. But maybe this body was sturdier and different. And he had his wings, as Lufasu said. He reached back to try and grab one of them and pull it towards himself, so that he could feel them up with his hands and look them over.
He probably looked somewhat like a swan trying to clean their feathers, with how there was a certain hint of preening interest in his face combined with the swan-white color of his wings and hair. With another deep sigh, he pulled his face past glancing at Lufasu to the surrounding buildings for a suitable place to toss himself off of. "Right, fantastic, I'm actually going to do this." One day into becoming an Isekai and he was tossing himself off of buildings, instead of the usual main character which would have a harem and some kind of overpowered ability.
"Uh, don't mind me, I guess. Hold on for a while." The tall Enoch rose up once more, strode by the equally tall winged Panpaidi, and put his hands and feet to the exterior of a house that didn't seem inhabited - his basket was left next to the fountain. "Treat yourself.", he said as he walked past Lufasu, inviting her to perch on the fountain's side and enjoy a fruit while she watched a fellow Enoch climb a building and toss himself off of it. Quite the show, after what she already got to see of him.
Climbing was certainly easier than real life. Even though he was a mage, his body felt quite fit and supple. His Novice Shirt, which he chose over the Robe - he disliked robes - came in handy here too, as it didn't get in the way of him while climbing. And, lo and behold, a minute later there stood Vincent on top of the roof of a two-story building. With his long hair fluttering in the wind, and his white wings catching sunlight, it was an impressive sight for the brief three seconds it lasted. Unceremoniously, he leapt off with a small sprint in the attempt to do a roll upon landing, but his eyes went wide when instead his wings spread wide and bolted him back up, knocking against the air, flexing and spreading to adjust his own balance for him as he dropped slowly and fell on his foot and knee, a meter or three in front of the other Enoch.
Welcome to the help dialog for the Custom Mini-Profile Creator plugin!
Click on any of the tabs above to go through the plugin configuration process!
You can access this menu at any time by clicking on the icon in the bottom right bar (may not be applicable if you're on Forums.net), or you can disable the welcome window and/or the icon by going to Plugins > Manage > Custom Mini-Profile Creator and changing the Show Help option.
This step is essential as it gives the plugin everything it needs on the page to get as much profile information as possible.
To make the profile variables work you'll need to add a new line to the very end of Themes > Layout Templates > Mini-Profile and paste the code below on it. The code should be placed completely outside of the mini-profile, so if you're using the default mini-profile template this will be after the very last closing </div> tag. This needs to be done on every theme you have the plugin enabled on as the template is theme-specific.
If your mini-profile template is already customized and you've hit the variable limit for your template you're free to remove any lines from the code below if they contain information that you don't plan on using. For example, if you have no plans to ever add a user's IP to their mini-profile for staff reference you can remove <div class="mp-info ip">$[user.ip]</div> from the code and everything else will still work just fine.
Once you've added the HTML from the Layout Templates tab you're ready to move on to building your mini-profiles. If you want to get going and try some out now or you're not very adept at HTML, CSS, or Javascript, worry not! This plugin includes some examples for you to try out. You're free to skip to the Custom Profile Fields tab and read over this tab later when you're ready to build your own.
Here's a quick rundown of each of the components in Plugins > Manage > Custom Mini-Profile Creator:
Name This is the name you'll be adding to your custom profile field dropdown once you've finished coding the mini-profile. Pretty self-explanatory. Make sure this name is unique from every other name you use for your mini-profiles or you'll end up overwriting the earlier ones in the list.
HTML This is the HTML that will go inside your mini-profile. You can use just about any HTML tag here so long as it's appropriate for where the mini-profile is showing on the page. Please refrain from using <style> or <script> tags here. You have the next two sections for that! Also, remember that mini-profiles can show multiple times on the same page, so you shouldn't add ID attributes to any of your elements here. Two elements on the same page cannot have the same ID per HTML standards.
CSS This is where you'll place what would normally go in your forum's style sheet or what would normally be between <style> tags. Try to code your mini-profile's HTML in a way that will allow you to target it specifically with your selectors. For example, you can surround all of the content in your HTML with a <div> element with a class and target that class and its child elements specifically with your CSS. That way you don't accidentally target every mini-profile on the page with CSS that was meant for the one you're building. One more thing: The forum theme's CSS still applies beforehand, so your mini-profile may look right in one theme but not in another. The best way to circumvent this is to define as many styles as you can to override the theme's CSS.
Javascript Anything that normally goes between <script> tags will go here. This one's a bit tricky since you'll obviously want to target the custom mini-profile specifically. Luckily there's an easy way to do that. In your statements you can use the $(this) variable to target the mini-profile if you're coding using jQuery. Otherwise, if you only plan on using standard Javascript you can target $(this)[0] instead.
Once you've finished building your mini-profiles it's finally time to add them to the Edit Profile page for use! To enable selection of custom mini-profiles you'll first need to add two specific custom profile fields in Members > Custom Profile Fields in your forum's admin area:
Mini-Profile Theme
Staff Mini-Profile Theme
Mini-Profile Theme is for mini-profiles that are designed for member use. You can set the Who Can Edit option for this field to Staff With Power if you only want staff to be able to choose mini-profiles for users. Otherwise, if you want members to freely be able to choose their own mini-profiles you can choose Members and Staff With Power.
Staff Mini-Profile Theme is for mini-profiles designed specifically for staff use. This field is completely optional.
Set the type for both of these fields as Drop Down Selection. Click on the (View/Edit) link to add mini-profile names to each of these fields.
If you've just installed this plugin you should have three different mini-profiles already installed by default: Example 1, Example 2, and Example 3. You can add these to your dropdowns to test them out and see the plugin in action.
If you're having trouble getting this plugin to work despite following the instructions in the previous tabs you may want to check that each of your themes meets the prerequisites below in Themes > Layout Templates > Mini-Profile.
First, ensure that opening tag of your mini-profile template includes the $[miniprofile_class] variable in its class. On the default ProBoards theme it should look something like this:
<div class="$[miniprofile_class]">
Next, make sure that the default {foreach} loop for custom fields is present inside your mini-profile. It doesn't need to be visible, so you're free to add it inside a hidden element if you don't plan on displaying it or if it would mess up the appearance of your own custom template.
Beyond that you can do whatever you like to the mini-profile template for the most part and it shouldn't negatively impact the plugin.
The following is a list of available variables for use in the HTML section of the mini-profile creator and their definitions. Adding any of these to a mini-profile will generate the content described in its definition in place of the variable so long as the information that variable outputs is visible to you.
To reference your forum's custom profile fields you can use $[user.customfieldname], substituting "customfieldname" with your custom field's name. You'll need to type the name in all lowercase with no spaces and only use characters A-Z and 0-9.
For example, Mini-Profile Theme becomes $[user.miniprofiletheme]. This will output the value of the custom field. In the case of this example, it'll be the name of the mini-profile theme you've chosen in your profile.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These will only work if you followed the steps in the Installation tab of this window on each of your themes. Any themes that do not include the template code specified there will not have these variables replaced in the mini-profile.

You can utilize the $(this) variable in the Javascript component to target the mini-profile <div> element. For example, if you wanted to add a class to the mini-profile you can use:
$(this).addClass('class-name-here');
Profile variables can also be used in the Javascript component in this plugin. In Javascript the value undefined is used to signify that a value doesn't exist for the variable you've specified. With this in mind you can use profile variables in Javascript conditional statements within the plugin similar to how they're used in the actual layout templates section of the admin area.
if(variable) will only run if the variable you specify has a value.
if(!variable) will only run if the variable you specify has no value.
Example 1 (variable has value):
if(user.group){
$(this).find('.group').show();
}
If the user has their group displayed in their profile the above Javascript would make the HTML below visible if you had it hidden with CSS.
